Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala shot dead a day after government withdrew security.

A person who was injured in the death incident of Sidhu Moose Wala also succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The attackers fired 30 rounds in the Mansa district of Punjab. Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in a firing incident at Jawaharke in Mansa district on Sunday.

One of the two persons who were seriously injured along with Moose Wala died in the firing. The attackers fired 30 rounds. Moose Wala was taken to the Civil Hospital in Mansa in a critical condition where he was declared brought dead.

The incident came a day after the Punjab Police ordered the withdrawal of their security along with over 420 people, including former MLAs, two Takht Jathedar's, dera chiefs, and police officers.

However, Mansa SSP Gaurav Tora said that Moose Wala had four police personnel for security and only two gunmen were temporarily withdrawn. He further said that Moose Wala did not take the remaining two gunmen who were with him at the time of the incident.

The 29-year-old singer had joined the Congress in December last year and had unsuccessfully contested the 2022 Punjab elections on a Congress ticket from Mansa district.

Congress condoled that the "murder" of Moose Wala was a terrible blow to the party and the country. “The killing of Mr. Sidhu Moose Wala, Congress candidate from Punjab and a talented musician, has come as a terrible shock to the Congress party and the entire nation.

Our deepest condolences to his family, fans, and friends. We stand united and firm in this hour of extreme grief,” the party tweeted from its official handle.
