HYDERABAD: Sunday afternoon saw Hyderabad’s temperature soar to nearly 43° Celsius before short but intense rainfall swept through the city and neighbouring districts in the evening. The downpour, accompanied by strong winds, led to power outages in parts of Greater Hyderabad and also in Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Jogulamba-Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Yadadri-Bhongir, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Nalgonda, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on Sunday.The severe weather caused damage to power infrastructure, including snapped transmission lines, fallen tree branches on cables, damaged poles, transformers, and fuse boxes, and banners entangled in power lines.
